Terms of Service

vaultdrop (“vaultdrop”, “we”, “us”) is a platform where independent artists share unreleased music, demos and b-sides, and listeners discover, play, follow and support it. It is operated from Portugal. You can reach us at [email protected].

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and vaultdrop. By browsing the site, creating an account, uploading content or buying a membership you accept them, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy, which form part of these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use vaultdrop.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you use vaultdrop on behalf of a company or label, you confirm you have authority to bind it to these Terms.

• Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it current.
• Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account; tell us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use.
• Your handle must not impersonate another person, artist or brand, and must not be offensive. We may reclaim handles that are inactive, misleading or infringe someone's rights.
• One person, one account, unless we've agreed otherwise (for example a label or curator account).

Signing in with Google or Spotify creates a vaultdrop account linked to the email address those services give us. Their own terms govern your use of those services.

You keep ownershipof everything you upload: audio, artwork, album and track metadata, profile images and text (“Content”). We never claim ownership of your music.

To run the service you grant vaultdrop a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, transcode, reproduce, stream, display and distribute your Content on and through vaultdrop, including in search results, recommendation sections, embeds, link previews and the “Add to Spotify” export that listeners trigger on their own devices. The licence lasts as long as the Content is on the platform and ends when you delete it or your account, except for copies that remain in backups for a limited time or that listeners already exported.

You promise that for every upload you either own the rights or hold all licences and permissions needed to share it here, from every songwriter, performer, producer, featured artist, label and sample owner involved, and that sharing it on vaultdropinfringes nobody's rights. “Unreleased” means yourunreleased work, not someone else's leaked or ripped recordings.

You are solely responsible for your Content. We don't pre-screen uploads, but we may review, restrict, re-tag or remove any Content at any time if we believe it breaks these Terms or the law.

Don't use vaultdrop to:

• upload, share or link to recordings you don't have the right to distribute, including leaks, rips from streaming services, and material from leak aggregators or “tracker” collections;
• upload malware, or files that aren't what they claim to be;
• harass, threaten, defame or impersonate anyone, or send unsolicited bulk messages;
• scrape, crawl or bulk-download the catalogue, circumvent access controls, the CAPTCHA, rate limits or Supporter-only features, or interfere with the service or other users;
• inflate play, like or follower counts artificially;
• collect other users' personal data without their consent;
• break any applicable law, or encourage others to.

We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, and take legal action in response to breaches, with or without notice depending on severity.

We respect rights holders and respond to notices of alleged infringement. If you believe Content on vaultdrop infringes your copyright or other rights, email [email protected] with:

1. the URL(s) of the infringing track, album or profile;
2. identification of the work you own and evidence that you hold the rights;
3. your name, address and email;
4. a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.

We will review the notice, remove or disable access to the Content where appropriate, and notify the uploader, who may send a counter-statement. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. Knowingly false notices may make you liable for the damage they cause.

vaultdrop offers paid Supporter and Plus memberships (monthly or yearly) and accepts one-off donations. Prices are shown before you pay, in the currency selected for your region, and include applicable VAT or sales tax where required.

• Payments are processed by Stripe. vaultdropnever sees or stores your card details. Stripe acts as merchant of record for these purchases and handles tax collection and invoicing; its name may appear on your statement. Stripe's terms and privacy policy also apply to the payment step.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal (Membership page → Manage). Cancellation stops future charges; you keep the perks until the end of the period already paid.
• Refunds and the 14-day withdrawal right are described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
• Membership perks (banners, ad-free browsing, badges and similar) are described on the Membership page and may change over time. We'll tell you in advance about price changes or the removal of a material perk, and you may cancel before they take effect.
• Donations are voluntary and don't buy any additional rights in the platform or its content.

The advertiser inquiry form is a request for information, not an order. Any advertising placement is governed by a separate written agreement between vaultdrop and the advertiser. Supporters and Plus members browse without ads.

vaultdropworks alongside services we don't control: Google and Spotify sign-in, Stripe checkout, and the “Add to Spotify” feature, which saves a copy of a track to a folder on yourdevice that you choose so your own Spotify app can play it. Artist portraits and genre suggestions are looked up from public catalogue APIs (Spotify, Deezer, iTunes). Those services have their own terms and we aren't responsible for them.

Sharing and embed features let you place links and players on other sites and apps. You're responsible for where you share.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Your tracks, albums, likes, follows, messages and listening history are deleted with it (see the Privacy Policy for what may be retained and why). Active subscriptions should be cancelled first; deleting the account does not by itself refund the current period.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Where reasonable we'll give notice and a chance to export your uploads.

vaultdropis a small independent platform. We work to keep it available, accurate and secure, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation, of the accuracy of play counts and recommendations, or of the lawfulness of Content uploaded by others. Keep your own copies of anything you upload.

To the extent permitted by law, vaultdrop is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data or loss of goodwill arising from your use of the service or from Content uploaded by others. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or €50 if you paid nothing.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer in the European Union or your country of residence.

You agree to compensate vaultdrop for claims by third parties arising from Content you uploaded in breach of section 3 or from your breach of these Terms.

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. We'll post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify account holders by email or a notice on the site at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use vaultdropafter that date means you accept the updated Terms; if you don't, delete your account before they apply.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. If you are a consumer in the European Union you also benefit from the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in its courts.

If you have a complaint, please contact us first at [email protected]; most issues are resolved quickly that way. Consumers resident in Portugal may also use the Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico or an alternative dispute resolution body listed by the Direção-Geral do Consumidor.
